The Garmin GPSMAP 2206 Color Chartplotter is full featured, but the perfect size for a smaller boat. The dimensions of the GPSMAP 2206 Color come in at 10.25”W x 6.5”H x 3.25”D, so you don’t require a bunch of space to get a bunch of features. The GPSMAP 2206 features a 256-color, 640 x 480 resolution, 6.4” diagonal display, which is viewable in any lighting situations. The GPSMAP 2206 also features adjustable backlight on both the display and the keypad, and can be set ultra-dim for nighttime operation. The GPS 17 WAAS enabled sensor is included with each 2206 and features a 12-channel GPS receiver with 30 feet of cable. The GPSMAP 2206 Color also has 3 data ports for connecting to other NMEA capable devices and when connected with a DSC equipped VHF radio it will graphically display positioning data that you receive.

Each and every Garmin GPSMAP 2206 color chartplotter is pre-loaded with information that is derived from the Garmin BlueChart G2 technology. This highly detailed cartography will cover the entire coastal US including Alaska and Hawaii. Information such as detailed coastlines, depth contours, spot soundings, navaids, port plans, wrecks, obstructions, and tide and current data is pre-loaded for you aid to navigation. The GPSMAP 2206 also includes a 3D perspective of the detailed charts. The GPSMAP 2206 has loads of memory for waypoint and route storage. You can store 4,000 waypoints with name and symbol and 50 reversible routes with up to 300 points in each route. The 2206C will also hold 10,000 track log points and will save 15 tracks with 750 points per track. There is also room for 10 proximity waypoints; a proximity waypoint will sound an alarm if you get within certain “proximity” of that particular waypoint. Other alarms for anchor drag, arrival, off-course, clock, low-battery voltage and GPS accuracy are also available in the GPSMAP 2206.
